Viewers revisit campy Lugosi horror with memorably bad bat effects

Original: Mostly competent B spooker with the most hilariously bad bat-effects since the original Dracula. Lugosi's earnest charm

A horror film buff has praised a lesser-known Bela Lugosi picture as a mostly competent B-movie, singling out its 'hilariously bad' bat effects as the worst since the original Dracula. The review credits Lugosi's earnest charm and menace with saving the film, and gives an honorable mention to side characters One-Shot and Maxine for their over-the-top chemistry.

Why now: Classic horror fans are currently sharing and debating old Lugosi B-movies and their endearingly shoddy production values.
