Woman in anti-Sherrod Brown ad misrepresents her story
Original: Headline: Woman accusing Sherrod Brown of forcing transgender surgeries isn’t from Ohio, didn’t have procedure as minor.
A woman featured in a political ad accusing Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown of supporting forced transgender surgeries on minors has been shown not to be from Ohio and not to have undergone such a procedure as a minor, undercutting the ad's central claim. Commenters responded with cynicism about false claims in campaign advertising, as the spot circulates during the heated Senate race.
Why now: The ad's claims were debunked during a closely watched Senate election campaign.
