India and Pakistan Summon Envoys After Border Shooting Deaths

Original: India, Pakistan Summon Each Others Diplomats After BSF Shoots Dead Two Pakistanis

India's Border Security Force shot dead two Pakistani nationals, prompting both countries to summon each other's diplomats in protest. Islamabad called in India's envoy to lodge a strong objection over the killings, while New Delhi responded by summoning Pakistan's diplomat in a tit-for-tat move. The incident adds fresh tension to already strained bilateral relations, with both sides trading accusations over conduct along the border.

Why now: The fatal border shooting and mutual diplomatic protests have heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
