Wilson: Manchester City's trophies should carry blanks
Original: Let there be blanks instead of Manchester City’s name on trophies: there was no honour there | Jonathan Wilson By Jonath
Guardian columnist Jonathan Wilson argues that Manchester City's major trophies should be remembered with blank spaces rather than the club's name, following the Premier League's legal action over alleged financial rule breaches. He frames the blanks as both a rebuke to an era of greed in English football and a tribute to the Premier League's pursuit of justice against one of its richest clubs.
Why now: The Premier League's financial charges case against Manchester City keeps the legitimacy of the club's trophies a live debate.
