Ken Paxton's estranged wife backs his campaign without naming him
Original: Ken Paxton’s estranged wife backs his candidacy — without mentioning him by name
Angela Paxton, the estranged wife of Texas Senator Ken Paxton, has publicly endorsed his political candidacy, but pointedly avoided mentioning him by name in her statement. The endorsement comes as the couple's separation remains public, making her support notable ahead of the upcoming Senate Republican primary race in Texas.
Why now: The unusual combination of an endorsement and a public marital separation makes the story striking, and the Texas Senate race is drawing attention.
