Original: Flydubai co-pilot used crash ax to hack at pilot in attempted ‘terrorist attack’: UAE official
A Flydubai co-pilot used an onboard crash ax to hack at the pilot in what a UAE official describes as an attempted terrorist attack. The incident has prompted scrutiny of cockpit security and pilot vetting, with authorities characterising the co-pilot's actions as deliberate rather than a medical or mental health episode. Details about the flight, injuries, and how the crew regained control have not been fully released.
