Pro-Palestinian protesters in Ireland have called on the national team to boycott Sunday's Nations League match against Israel. Activists are using slogans including 'StopTheGame' and 'ShowIsraelTheRedCard' as part of a wider campaign over the Gaza conflict, pressing the Football Association of Ireland and players to refuse to take the pitch. The appeal has drawn attention amid ongoing debate in Europe about whether sporting events with Israel should go ahead during the war.
Why now: The Ireland vs Israel match is imminent, and activists are pushing the boycott call at the last moment.
