Mormon leader D. Todd Christofferson urges members to quit gambling
Original: LDS leader D. Todd Christofferson decries all forms of gambling, urges members to stop betting
D. Todd Christofferson, a senior leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has spoken out against all forms of gambling and called on church members to stop betting. The address, reported by The Salt Lake Tribune, reaffirms the church's long-standing opposition to wagering and directs members to abandon the practice entirely.
Why now: A senior LDS apostle publicly restating a blanket condemnation of gambling draws attention amid growing legalised betting.
