FTL unveiled as a new operating system for clouds
Original: FTL: A new operating system for clouds
FTL, a new operating system designed specifically for cloud environments, is being introduced publicly with details available on its project website. The project positions itself as a purpose-built OS for running cloud infrastructure, rather than a general-purpose system adapted to the cloud. Early reaction among developers and systems engineers is focused on how it compares to established cloud and server operating systems, and what practical problems it aims to solve for cloud operators.
Why now: New operating system projects attract attention from developers and infrastructure engineers evaluating alternatives to existing cloud platforms.
