Kerala in focus: monsoon alerts, assembly session, political rows
Original: കേരള
Kerala is drawing attention for several developments at once. The weather department has issued orange alerts for heavy rain and gusty winds across multiple districts, with thunderstorms expected for three days from tomorrow. The state assembly's second session of the sixteenth legislative assembly begins on the 12th, with two bills expected to take centre stage. Politically, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarwa has challenged Congress, demanding the resignations of the Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana governments ahead of the Bihar polls. Malabar also faces criticism after the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat was routed without serving Kozhikode.
Why now: Heavy rain alerts, the start of the assembly session and political exchanges are all making Kerala a talking point right now.
