A truck factory in Ohio has laid off nearly 1,400 workers, days before a scheduled Trump rally in the state. Commenters online are calling the news a 'gut punch' and drawing a direct link between the mass layoffs and the timing of the political event, framing it as a stark contrast to campaign messaging about manufacturing jobs in the region.
Why now: The layoffs' timing right before a Trump rally in Ohio makes them politically charged.
