Unseasonably warm October weather catches mushroom foragers off guard
Original: 🍄With this summer-like weather, you almost forget it’s already October — mushroom season. My mind wasn’t tuned into that
With unusually summer-like weather across Europe in early October, many people are saying the mild conditions have made them forget it is already mushroom season. Foragers and nature watchers note that their minds are not yet tuned in to autumn fungi appearing in fields and forests, expressing surprise at how warm the month has started.
Why now: Unseasonably warm weather in early October has delayed people's sense that autumn, and mushroom season, has arrived.
