Russia's New Shturm Robotic Tank Fails in Public Debut
Original: Russia Debuts New Shturm Robotic Tank—It Loses Connection and Gets Stuck in the Mud
Russia has presented its new Shturm robotic tank, but the demonstration went badly wrong. The unmanned vehicle reportedly lost its remote-control connection and became stuck in the mud, undercutting claims about its battlefield readiness. Commenters are treating the episode as an embarrassing setback for Moscow's push to showcase advanced unmanned ground vehicles amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Why now: A high-profile Russian military technology debut failing publicly invites mockery and raises doubts about Russia's defense claims.
