Go Oiwa linked to Japan U-22 Asian Games football campaign

Original: 大岩剛

Go Oiwa, the Japanese men's football coach, is drawing attention as Japan prepares for a much-anticipated Asian Games showdown against South Korea, with coverage framing the young squad as seeking revenge in a 'final battle' at the tournament. Talk around him is also mixed with tributes to Masayoshi Otaki, the former Shimizu Commercial High School football coach who developed many Japan internationals and has died, highlighting the depth of Japanese football's coaching lineage.

Why now: Japan's Asian Games men's football clash with South Korea has put coach Go Oiwa in the spotlight.
