Wildlife photographer shares blurry finch photo worth keeping

Original: The second photo here is out of focus, and wouldn’t normally survive the first cull, let alone get shared on social medi

A wildlife photographer shared an out-of-focus shot of a finch that would normally be deleted, because it revealed something unusual: the bird's red colouration runs along either side of its beak, a detail the photographer had never noticed before. The post is drawing attention for celebrating an imperfect image that still captured an interesting natural detail.

Why now: People find it refreshing when an imperfect photo reveals a genuine, little-known detail about a familiar bird.
