coldmirror breaks with Harry Potter over Rowling controversy
Original: coldmirror harry potter
German YouTuber coldmirror, who rose to fame with her parody dubs of the Harry Potter films, is publicly distancing herself from the franchise. According to WEB.DE, her decision is a reaction to J.K. Rowling's ongoing positions in the debate over trans rights, which have drawn widespread criticism. The move has drawn attention in Germany, where her 'Harry Potter' sketches were a formative piece of early German internet culture.
Why now: A well-known creator publicly turning away from the franchise that made her famous over J.K. Rowling's controversial statements is striking news for German audiences.
