Robot that falls from the sky and sails off unveiled
Original: Researchers built a robot that turns a fall from the sky into a sailing trip
Researchers have built a robot designed to be dropped from the air and then transition into a sailing vessel once it reaches water. The craft combines aerial delivery with autonomous sailing, potentially allowing it to reach remote or hazardous waterways without a boat launch. Details of the design and its intended uses were not provided in the coverage.
Why now: The unusual combination of falling and sailing in one robot is drawing attention to a novel robotics concept.
