Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian president on defence technology, has suggested that Russian MESH radio relays may be operating inside Kyiv, allowing operators to control Shahed drones over the capital. The claim, reported by Ukrainian media, points to Russian jamming-resistant communication infrastructure deployed deep into Ukrainian territory. If confirmed, it would indicate a significant escalation in drone warfare capabilities used against Ukraine.
Why now: Claims that Russian control equipment is operating inside Kyiv would mark a serious new development in the drone war and Ukraine's air defence challenge.
