Athens' former airport to become Europe's largest coastal park
Original: "Athens’ former airport is becoming Europe’s largest coastal urban park" # Athens # Europe # Environment https://www. op
The site of Athens' old airport is being transformed into what is described as Europe's largest coastal urban park. The project would convert the disused airfield land on the Greek capital's coast into a major green public space, a move being welcomed by environment-focused audiences as a notable example of urban regeneration in Europe.
Why now: Interest in large-scale urban greening projects and the reuse of disused infrastructure
