Widdecombe murder suspect charged over Farage terror plot
Original: Widdecombe murder suspect charged with planning terror act on Nigel Farage
A suspect already held in connection with the murder of Katie Widdecombe has been charged with planning a terrorist act against Nigel Farage. The charge links the two cases and escalates what had been treated as a murder investigation into a terrorism matter. Details of the alleged plot and the suspect's identity have not yet been made public, and the case is expected to proceed through the courts.
Why now: The unusual link between a murder case and an alleged terror plot against a prominent politician is drawing widespread attention.
