Original: Grapheneos doing the work to keep # Android running in the right direction. With or without # google 'GrapheneOS has fix
The privacy-focused Android operating system GrapheneOS says it has fixed a severe kernel performance regression affecting Android 17 QPR1, and did so independently of Google. Supporters are praising the project for keeping Android on the right track with or without Google's involvement, highlighting how the community-driven security-focused OS is stepping in when upstream fixes lag.
Why now: GrapheneOS's independent fix of a major Android performance regression is being shared as proof of the project's technical strength outside Google's ecosystem.
