Brazil Holds Critical Presidential Election: Lula vs Far-Right Challenger

Original: 🔴 BREAKING Brazil Presidential Election: Lula vs Far-Right Candidate Brazil holds a critical presidential election pitti

Brazil is holding a presidential election pitting leftist incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva against a far-right challenger who is the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who was convicted over coup-plotting attempts. Commentators are framing the vote as a test of the strength of pro-Trump nationalist movements in Latin America, with the result likely to shape Brazil's political direction and its international alignments.

Why now: The election is seen as a bellwether for the global rise of far-right, Trump-aligned politics.
