Visitors question why elderly Singaporeans keep working
Original: man I love singapore.. i really do BUT one thing breaks my heart is seeing really old people working.. like dont yall ha
A visitor to Singapore says they love the country but are troubled by the number of people over 70 still working, from cleaners to food servers, and questions whether retirees lack adequate retirement savings. The observation has prompted debate over the Central Provident Fund, cost of living, and whether elderly workers are working by choice or necessity.
Why now: The visible presence of very old workers in an otherwise wealthy country raises questions about retirement adequacy that resonate with residents and visitors alike.
