Bronny James could be cut by the Lakers before next season

Original: Bronny James Faces Possible Lakers Roster Cut Ahead of 2026-27 NBA Season Bronny James, Dalton Knut, and Jayden Hardy ar

Reports say Bronny James, along with Dalton Knecht and Jaylen Hood-Schifino teammate candidates, is among players at risk of being cut by the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season. The Lakers have 16 players under guaranteed contracts, exceeding roster limits, forcing decisions on the fringe of the squad. James, son of LeBron James, would be the most high-profile casualty, drawing wide attention from fans.

Why now: The Lakers must trim an over-guaranteed roster, and the prospect of cutting LeBron James's son makes it a talking point.
