Regional sports network tells NBA and NHL teams it will shut down
Original: NBA, NHL teams told Main Street sports network will end operations
A regional sports network that carries local broadcasts for NBA and NHL teams has told those teams it will cease operations, according to reports from ABC-owned stations. The shutdown would leave professional teams in multiple markets without a local broadcast partner as leagues continue reshaping how fans watch games on television and streaming.
Why now: The end of a major regional sports broadcaster affects where fans can watch NBA and NHL games and forces teams to find new TV arrangements.
