FlyDubai Attacker Was Banned by Oman Over Radical Views
Original: Exclusive | FlyDubai Attacker Had Been Banned From Flying by Oman for Radical Views
The Wall Street Journal reports that the attacker on a FlyDubai flight had previously been banned from flying by Oman because of his radical views. The disclosure raises questions about how the man was able to board a flight and carry out an attack despite an existing aviation ban, and scrutiny is likely to fall on coordination between Omani authorities and carriers operating in the region.
Why now: New exclusive reporting reveals the attacker had been flagged and grounded before, prompting questions over security failures.
