Original: # meme # politics # society # surveillance # control # snowden # nsa # terrorism # terror # tracking # internet # usa #
People are sharing memes and commentary about mass surveillance, invoking Edward Snowden, the NSA and Orwellian 'Big Brother' imagery. The posts link government tracking of internet users to counter-terrorism, and question whether security measures come at the cost of privacy and freedom. Tags referencing the Pirate Party and Secret Service suggest a broader debate about state control online.
Why now: Surveillance and privacy remain recurring flashpoints, and users are currently circulating memes criticising NSA-style tracking.
