Fijian climate activist demands action before UN Pacific talks
Original: ‘We want action’: Fijian climate activist sends message ahead of UN talks in Pacific
A Fijian climate activist has issued a public call for concrete commitments ahead of United Nations climate talks being held in the Pacific region. Speaking under the message 'We want action', the activist is pressing negotiators to deliver meaningful measures on climate change, an existential issue for low-lying island nations such as Fiji that face rising seas and intensifying storms.
Why now: UN climate talks in the Pacific have put a spotlight on island nations demanding stronger climate action.
