Two Iranians Charged Over Alleged Yom Kippur Attack Plot on UK Jews
Original: Two Iranians charged with plotting terror attack on British Jews on Yom Kippur after arrest of Iran national in US airbase plot
Two Iranian nationals have been charged with plotting a terror attack targeting British Jews on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. The charges came after the arrest of an Iranian national in the United States over an alleged plot involving a US airbase. The cases have heightened concern about Iranian-linked terror operations in Western countries and about the security of Jewish communities.
Why now: The timing of the charges alongside a separate US airbase plot arrest has raised fresh alarm over Iranian-backed threats to Jewish communities abroad.
