Fur Affinity turns to its community for funding
Original: Fur Affinity seeks community funding
Fur Affinity, the long-running online art community focused on furry artwork, is asking its users to help fund the platform. The appeal covers the costs of keeping the site running, and members are debating whether the community-supported model can sustain a service that has survived on its own for years without paywalls.
Why now: The site's funding appeal has sparked discussion about whether niche online communities can stay independent without subscriptions or ads.
