USDA tightens rules on solar grants for farmers
Original: The USDA just made it way harder for # farmers to get # solar | Canary Media https://www. canarymedia.com/articles/food-
The USDA has changed its Rural Energy for America Program in a way that makes it much harder for farmers to win grants for solar installations, according to Canary Media. The move is drawing criticism from clean-energy advocates, who say it slows renewable adoption in rural America, while commentators on social media flag it as a setback for farm-scale solar and US climate policy.
Why now: A federal policy change restricting farmers' access to solar funding affects rural economies and renewable-energy goals, sparking debate.
