Writer turns old Pixel 4a into a dedicated music player
Original: A headphone jack and 100GB of music — my old Pixel 4a is my new iPod
A writer at Android Police describes repurposing an old Google Pixel 4a as a dedicated iPod-style music device, loading it with 100GB of music and making use of its headphone jack. The piece reflects a broader nostalgia-driven trend of using spare phones as distraction-free offline music players instead of streaming.
Why now: Interest is growing in dedicated offline music devices as a nostalgic, distraction-free alternative to streaming phones.
