Disney licenses movies and shows including 'Ice Age' to Netflix

Original: Disney licenses lineup of movies, TV shows to Netflix including 'Ice Age,' 'Will Trent'

Disney has agreed to license a lineup of movies and TV series to Netflix, including the 'Ice Age' films and the series 'Will Trent'. The deal puts Disney-owned programming back on a rival streaming service, reversing years of strategy focused on keeping content exclusive to Disney+ and Hulu. The move comes as media companies increasingly weigh licensing revenue against streaming exclusivity.

Why now: It marks a notable shift in Disney's streaming strategy toward licensing content to a competitor.
