Phil Gould demoted in Channel Nine's grand final coverage shake-up

Original: phil gould

Channel Nine has demoted Phil Gould from its lead commentary team for the NRL grand final, according to The Australian. The decision is being read as a major gamble by the network, which is reshuffling its highest-rating broadcast of the year. Gould, one of rugby league's most prominent and outspoken figures, remains a central voice at Nine, but the move raises questions about his role going forward and has drawn attention from league fans and media watchers.

Why now: A well-known broadcaster is being moved aside for the network's biggest rugby league event, prompting debate about the reasons behind it.
