AI and energy access take spotlight at Future of Energy Forum
Original: Future of Energy Forum panel: How AI could expand energy access
A panel at Tulane University's Future of Energy Forum examined how artificial intelligence could help expand access to energy. The discussion comes as AI's own massive electricity demands draw scrutiny, raising questions about whether the technology can balance its growing power consumption with tools that improve grid efficiency, planning, and delivery of electricity to underserved communities worldwide.
Why now: Debate over AI's surging electricity use has put its potential role in solving, rather than worsening, energy access challenges in the spotlight.
