Residents of Ras al-Ahmar in the occupied West Bank say an Israeli barrier has cut off their access to water, according to Al Jazeera reporting. The disruption comes shortly before Israeli elections, drawing criticism that Palestinians in the area are being deprived of a basic resource. The community, already facing movement restrictions, now reports severe difficulty obtaining water for daily needs.
Why now: The reported water cutoff is happening just before Israeli elections, intensifying scrutiny of Israel's policies in the West Bank.
