NY Times Readers Pick Best TV Show of 21st Century After List Backlash
Original: NY Times Readers' Poll Names the 'Best TV Show of the 21st Century' After Newspaper's 'Joke of a List' Divides Viewers
The New York Times asked readers to choose the best TV show of the 21st century after its own critics' ranking of the era's top series angered many viewers, who called the original list a 'joke.' The reader poll produced a winner, but debate continues over which show truly deserves the title, with fans arguing their favourites were snubbed or undervalued in the newspaper's roundup.
Why now: The newspaper's original critics' list divided audiences, and the follow-up reader poll is fuelling ongoing debate about the best shows of the century.
