CBS Sports and Tony Romo mutually part ways
Original: CBS Sports, broadcaster Tony Romo mutually part ways
CBS Sports and broadcaster Tony Romo have agreed to part ways, ending the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback's run as the network's lead NFL game analyst, according to Reuters. The split is described as mutual, with the move reshaping one of the most prominent booths in American football broadcasting and drawing attention to where Romo, once among TV's highest-paid analysts, lands next.
Why now: Romo was one of the highest-profile and highest-paid color commentators in NFL broadcasting, so his departure from CBS's top booth is major sports media news.
