CBS Sports and Tony Romo mutually part ways
Original: CBS Sports and Tony Romo mutually part ways; JJ Watt will remain on lead NFL broadcast team
CBS Sports and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo have agreed to part ways, ending his run as lead NFL game analyst for the network. JJ Watt will stay on the lead NFL broadcast team, giving CBS continuity in the booth as it moves on from Romo, who had been one of the highest-paid commentators in sports television.
Why now: Romo was a high-profile, highly paid lead analyst, so his departure and Watt's retention reshape one of the NFL's top broadcast booths.
