Original: US's Massad Boulos proposes 90-day Sudan-RSF ceasefire
Massad Boulos, a US adviser on Africa, has put forward a proposal for a 90-day ceasefire in Sudan involving the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The plan would aim to halt fighting with the Sudanese army and open space for humanitarian access. Details of Sudanese responses and the proposal's terms were not immediately available.
Why now: The Sudan war remains one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, so any new US ceasefire initiative draws immediate attention.
