Christopher Rufo sparks backlash over 'high-trust society' remark
Original: Rufo's white "high-trust society" claim
Conservative activist Christopher Rufo is drawing criticism after invoking a white 'high-trust society', a phrase critics say echoes far-right talking points about race and social cohesion. Commenters are debating whether the remark reflects mainstream conservative thought or explicit racial politics, with many on the political left condemning it as white nationalist rhetoric.
Why now: A prominent right-wing figure used racially charged language, prompting outrage and debate online.
