IDF says killed Hamas Northern Brigade chief held 15 hostages
Original: IDF says Hamas Northern Brigade chief killed this week held 15 hostages during war
The Israeli military says the commander of Hamas's Northern Brigade, killed this week, held 15 hostages during the war. The claim adds to Israeli statements about senior Hamas figures eliminated in Gaza and renews focus on the hostages still unaccounted for, keeping the war and captives issue at the centre of regional attention.
Why now: The claim links a recent Israeli strike to the fate of hostages, a highly charged ongoing issue.
