India said to be funding Afghan drone purchases from Belarus
Original: India financing Afghanistan to purchase loitering munitions and kamikaze drones from Belarus, claims Afghan media.
Afghan media reports claim India is financing Afghanistan's purchase of loitering munitions and kamikaze drones from Belarus. The claim has spread widely among Indian security and defence commentators, but neither New Delhi nor Minsk has confirmed it, and the original sourcing remains unverified. If accurate, it would mark a notable shift in India's engagement with Afghanistan and an unusual arms link involving Belarus.
Why now: The reported India-Belarus-Afghanistan arms triangle would be a major geopolitical development, drawing intense scrutiny amid tensions with Pakistan.
