Ukraine joins European Defence Fund as Zelensky signs law
Original: Ukraine joins European Defence Fund — Zelensky signs law
President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law clearing Ukraine to join the European Defence Fund, the EU programme that co-finances joint defence research and development projects. The move formalises Kyiv's participation and deepens integration with Europe's defence industry at a time when Ukraine continues to rely heavily on Western military support.
Why now: Ukraine's integration into EU defence structures is a significant step amid the ongoing war with Russia.
