Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto met EU High Representative Kaja Kallas in Rome, urging Europe to move from words to deeds on security. Their talks focused on the Aspides naval mission in the Red Sea, the situation in Lebanon and the growing risk of hybrid threats against European countries. The meeting underlines Italy's push for a stronger, more operational EU defence and foreign policy stance.
Why now: Ongoing European debates over defence capability and responses to hybrid threats give weight to the minister's call for concrete EU action.
