Apple removed ICEBlock app under Trump administration pressure
Original: # OneYearAgoToday # AreWeGreatYet October 2, 2025 - Facing pressure from the Trump administration, Apple removed ICEBloc
On October 2, 2025, Apple removed ICEBlock and similar apps that alert users to ICE sighting locations, following pressure from the Trump administration. Critics say the removal aids immigration enforcement and suppresses tools that helped people avoid raids, framing it as another example of tech companies caving to government demands.
Why now: People are marking the anniversary of Apple's removal of the ICE-tracking app and criticising it as censorship under government pressure.
