Yuzvendra Chahal retires from first-class cricket
Original: Yuzvendra Chahal retires from first-class cricket, keeps India white-ball hopes alive
India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has announced his retirement from first-class cricket while making clear he is not walking away from the international game. The move signals the 34-year-old is focusing fully on limited-overs cricket and still hopes to force his way back into India's white-ball squads. Chahal has not featured regularly for India recently, and stepping away from the longer domestic format frees him to concentrate on T20 and one-day opportunities at home and in leagues.
Why now: A veteran India spinner has made a career decision that fuels speculation about his international white-ball future.
