Union Unison says it will 'fight for the best deal' as talks resume over Glasgow City Council's controversial 'fire and rehire' plans. The Scottish Government and union GMB are also involved in the dispute, which concerns council staff facing dismissal and re-engagement on potentially worse terms. Negotiations between the council and unions are ongoing, with workers' conditions at the centre of the dispute.

Why now: Renewed talks in a labour dispute affecting council workers in Glasgow are drawing attention amid wider concern over fire and rehire practices.
