Cleveland Museum of Art hands gallery wall to community voices
Original: Cleveland Museum of Art lets the community speak from the wall
The Cleveland Museum of Art is giving community members a place to speak directly on its gallery walls, an initiative reported by Cleveland.com. The project lets visitors and local residents contribute their own words alongside artworks, reflecting a broader push by museums to make exhibitions more participatory and representative of the audiences they serve.
Why now: Museums inviting community input on exhibits is a timely topic as cultural institutions rethink who gets a voice in public art spaces
