Bandcamp Friday is back: for one day, the music platform waives its fees so 100% of purchases go directly to artists and their labels. Musicians are using the occasion to encourage fans to buy their releases, with independent artists promoting new albums and pointing fans to pick up copies while the fee waiver lasts.
Why now: The monthly fee-free promotion gives fans a direct incentive to buy music and artists a reason to promote their releases today.
